For those experienced sky watchers, the success of stargazing and sunrise watching is known to depend heavily on the weather conditions. When the lot of us met up at Bedok, there was a significant downpour. Great, we might have to spend the entire night in our tents! We were expecting 15 people to squeeze into 2 4-men and 1 2-men tents. Perhaps, we could sleep sitting...
Anyway, the sky cleared up and the total number of people was 13. The clouds however remained. As a result, we could not see as many stars as we wanted to though constellations like Virgo, Centaurus, Crux were easily seen.
Well, at least we managed to get a campfire going. Along the way, we found that some of the participants are actually pyromaniacs at heart. Give them a flame and they will turn it into a bonfire.
Sunrise was earlier than the expected 7 a.m. Unfortunately, the direction was not ideal. Instead of coming out of the sea, the sun came out behind some trees which totally block the entire view. What a spoiler. Overall, the camp gave a chance to relax and catch up with one another so all was not lost.
Sunset by the sea. The blue evening sky by the sea never fails to give one a feeling of serenity.
