Phase 2B of new CLS building

For those of you still in the dark, there will be a phase 2B to the moving of CLS over to a location closer to where all the "action" is i.e. Dover MRT. And we are all so busily in the midst of planning for such a move in 3 years time. Yup, need to plan early for such a complicated activity.

For my part, I need to draw up the design for my lab (Environmental Chemistry) in the new building. It is certainly not as simple as it sounds. Floor plan has to be drawn to scale with all the furniture and equipment. This includes the sinks too! By the way, none of us are trained in architecture or interior design. We also need to draw the benches - show the cupboards and drawers as well. Find out the power of the exhaust fans, the type of power sockets to use, material of benchtops etc.

Oh, all these may be subject to change since the final dimensions of the lab is not confirmed. And... the floor space has actually decreased compared to my current lab.

Yup, all these are part of our job.
