Starting from 26 Feb 2007, all computers in lecture halls and classrooms will be permanently removed. Lecturers and students who wish to do presentations will have to bring along their notebooks to class. Of course, this should not sound too surprising since SP has started to equip all staff with notebooks and all new students in 07-08 will have to own a notebook each.
So what's next? Will SP go completely wireless since the wireless coverage in campus is rather good? After all, wireless security has improved tremendously the past few years. As mentioned in an earlier posting, e-learning will become more dominant in the coming years. Now we have terms like "mobile e-learning, vodcasting, podcasting, blended learning, learner-centred active learning" coming up in pedagogical lingo. All these will certainly incorporate elements of e-learning. Only time will tell to what extent e-learning is being used.
